Lost Little Girl

Alright alright here's another pair of high cut converse and this pair is for Aletheia. Photos were taken somewhere in Australia by Jonathan Ong. One is of a little girl standing in the middle of a crowd, and the other is a crop of a baby pram.

I just transfered on the images same as the last pair of pin-up girl shoes and gave it an extremely diluted purple paint wash after. Hmm and the clouds and rainbow things i just painted on myself. I was going for a surreal mood for this one and i tried to contrast that with bold and colourful graphics. Anyways hope u guys like this pair.

"better than cheesecake"

to be quite honest, i was getting very bored of doing shoes. i mean it's a lot of work and I'm not one who enjoys sniffing sharpie marker fumes for hours on end. i've been doing shoes for so long but the one problem ive always had is that i cant do photo-realistic or extremely detailed work due to the thickness of the markers and also not being able to shade my images properly.

...HOWEVER...

ive just tried out this NEW METHOD (actually its just new to me) and its a nice change from what ive been doing. now i can transfer the image directly onto the shoe and fill in the colour with acrylic paint. its different and it has its own limitations as well but its more fun because i feel im doing an actual piece of art rather than just filling in colour. and yes its messy and dirty and all but converse shoes inherently have that sort of feel anyway.

and so here's the first of this edition. this one is for danny, my fellow long suffering army buddy (but we finish in 2 days time). its the pin-up girls from MIDWAY games and ive just painted in the rest of the stuff. the inside of the shoes have the typical faded pin-up girl slogans and the red shoelaces completes the look i guess. and also ive put a nice thick glaze over the whole thing to make it nice n shiny (and waterproof).

tOkiDoKi

i kinda went a bit colour crazy wih this one...its a tokidoki design but i changed the colours a little bit. im a huge fan of tokidoki, i just love the graphics and of course its japanese and its colourful so what more can u ask for.i took abt a gd 10 hours or more on this pair although its only a size 6 pair of converse. as u can see theres diamantes and pink shoelaces and the works, barb wire graphics on the insides and most importantly alot of hard work whew... this pair is for rox who has waited a while for this.

Sonny

hi guys i havent posted here in a while cos ive been real busy with school n what not. anyways recently ive had this obsession with cereal characters (a la captain crunch n lucky charms). I think they're so interesting cos they're somewhat pop art and pop icons, but not mainstream pop icons? thats an oxymoron isnt it...anyways yeah the shoes...the usual converse. The right side is an old school version of a cocoa puffs cereal box. and the left side is the new version that u see in the supermarkets today. i coloured the stitching on the insides pink and purple. and there are diamantes as always. i made this for myself but i dont know if im gonna wear them...more shoes coming soon!
